Who we are

SJLCT - Our Story

The Sarah Jane Leigh Charitable Trust was established in memory of Sarah Jane Leigh. Sarah Jane sadly passed away on 30th August 2015 in New York, where she lived.

Sarah was passionate and rigorously disciplined, allowing her to master two professions outstandingly. She ran her own successful Literary Agency, dedicating her life to her playwrights, whilst simultaneously managing her great passion inherited from her father, Gerald Leigh: the ownership and breeding of top thoroughbred flat racehorses. She was undoubtedly a phenomenon, who loved animals, especially Baxter her Labrador, and cared deeply about the welfare of children. All the charities the SJLCT support are inspired by the unwavering dedication and enthusiasm by which Sarah approached life, to develop a long-lasting Legacy in her name, today and always.

Sarah and her cousin Lindy Goldkorn envisioned a charity dedicated to helping vulnerable children and their families. Today, the charity honours Sarah’s legacy by continuing the compassionate work they planned together. Our mission is to assist vulnerable children and their families in overcoming challenges inclusively and compassionately.

We work with charities that align with our goal of supporting mental health and well-being through transformational programmes. Based in London, we primarily work with UK-based charities whilst our team – comprising Trustees Lindy Goldkorn, Gabriella Brooke and Leah Goldkorn along with our executive administrator Sarah Witney who brings a wealth of experience in mental health, education, and community outreach.

We are driven by a commitment to making a positive impact.
